Ann and I decided to move away from the Aire at Praia Da Rocha and let the rumours about the Aire closing die down. We arrived back to Praia Da Rocha two days before Shaun was due to leave to fly back to the UK to pick up his truck and drive off to do some work in Europe for the next 10 days!! Shaun and I really liked this Aire it is situated in the mountains not far from Portimao, there was a calm/tranquil atmosphere about the place. It is a commercial Aire for motorhomes only. It is owned by a Portugees family. It was €12.00 a night, that was for electric, hot showers, water and WIFI. We parked above the beach for free on a gravel piece of land, with about 11 other motorhomes. There were no facilities just fantastic views looking out to sea. There was a great fish restaurant right next to the piece of land. The Portugees fish soup was Delicious. We were told about this Aire by an English couple that we met in Ampudia. We were told it was another must place to visit in Portugal, a hidden gem that is not in any of the Aire books as yet. It is a free Aire in an old mining village.
