La Chappelle D’ Abondance – France.

Within a few days of Ian, Sarah and James leaving to go back to the UK, Shaun had to leave to. He had to fly back to the UK to pick up his truck and travel to the Czech Republic with a rally car. He was going to be away for 2 whole weeks.
So I decided just after a few days to pack up the motorhome and leave Les Gets and go off exploring with Jager. We ended up driving over the mountains to a little village called La Chappelle d’ Abondance.
We stayed at a great spot in the village which had a free aire by the river. I was very spoilt as it also had a motorhome service point with water and a electric top up all for 2 euros. It was ideal for jager and I with numerous amounts of walks and running routes for us to explore, more than enough to keep us occupied the 2 weeks while Shaun was away.
Jager and I decided to walk up to one of the manned refuges which was a 2 hours walk away for lunch; see photos below. Fantastic you really do feel you are living the dream when this is on your door step.
