Monchique – Portugal
Posted on October 21, 2014
Shaun and I really liked this Aire it is situated in the mountains not far from Portimao, there was a calm/tranquil atmosphere about the place.
It is a commercial Aire for motorhomes only. It is owned by a Portugees family. It was €12.00 a night, that was for electric, hot showers, water and WIFI. All the pitches are marked out and all have water points, as well as their own fold away tables.
The place was kept spotless. The WIFI was strong enough for us to download a few programs from iTunes during the night.
It was a great place to go out walking with marked routes a couple of hours long if required, I found it great for running, a little hilly but not too much of a lung buster!! Shaun got out on his Mountaine Bike during our stay, which he said was ok if you wanted to do short rides. He also said you had to go on to the main road a lot if you wanted to do longer ones.
We were supposed to only stay at Monchique for a night we enjoyed it so much we stayed for 3 nights before we had to make our way to Portimao to meet Shaun’s mum and dad.
